SEMINAR: RIGHTS OF DIFFERENTLY ABLED PEOPLE IN REFLECTION OF CONVENTION ON RIGHT OF PERSON WITH DISABILITY (WHO)

This year Ziauddin College of Rehabilitation Sciences celebrated the World Occupational Therapy day with great zeal and enthusiasm. The main goal was to encourage, advocate and spread awareness of Occupational Therapy as a rising profession.

Today, on 3rd November 2021, the occupational therapy department welcomed Sir Syed Mauz Shah, Director Center of Human Rights Department of Law-Legal Consultant-Mediator at Ziauddin University. Sir Syed was invited to address regarding the rights of differently able people in reflection to the convention on rights of person with disability (WHO).

The seminar was highly interactive and enlightening for the participants. Moreover, in his talk the speaker also highlighted the needs of the differently abled individuals, the challenges faced by them as well as the facts and figures regarding various national and international interventions undertaken to cater their needs.

This would definitely enable the professional to gain a better insight regarding the state policy and international comparison to make a best fit environment to promote inclusion.
